Croissant waffles by Bon Croffle review (Korean street food dessert)

I am really not a waffle fan since I only eat waffles if it's from a certain popular brand I was used to eating.. but this one was an exemption. There were too many things that exceeded my initial expectations and oh boy, they were all satisfyingly delicious.

Bon Croffle which is a shortcut version of "croissant waffles", are the ones behind these mouth-watering treats. First, let me enumerate those expectations of mine that were swept away after my first bite experience.

1. Croissant is different from the regular pancake mix. Just like me, you may have expected the same texture from a pancake waffle but it's not. It's a croissant or real bread that was made using the waffle maker. It tasted better than I imagined.

2. The whipped cream compliments the selected toppings. Usually, whipped cream is tasteless and just adds texture to the product it goes along with. I was hoping that it would be sweeter than those regular ones and it was granted big time. It was vanilla-flavored and it blends well with the croissant! Good job Bon Croffle!

3. It may look too sweet but it's not. The croissant balances all the sweetnesses on top so I think the combinations were properly experimented with and well-planned.

As of the moment, they have 3 unique flavors which are the following:

1. Bon Croffle’s nutella cream croissant waffle

The product consists of the premium croissant waffle, vanilla whipped cream, nutella spread and topped with dark cocoa powder.

2. Bon Croffle’s oreo cream croissant waffle

The product consists of the premium croissant waffle, vanilla whipped cream, oreo, oreo crumbs, and finished with some chocolate sauce.

3. Bon Croffle’s lotus cream croissant waffle

The product consists of the premium croissant waffle, vanilla whipped cream, lotus buscuit, lotus biscuit crumbs, and completed with some caramel sauce.

My favorite among the 3 (three) is the nutella cream croissant combination. Well, I am an ultra chocolate lover and despite its appearance which personally is the least attractive among the choices (haha!), its taste reigned supreme after having a taste at all of them.

For now, all orders and transactions are processed through their Facebook fan page which is named bon_croffle that will be directed to their online order page here. They are packaged in 3 pcs. per box (assorted flavors) priced at P249 while P480 for 6 pcs (2 boxes - assorted flavors). There is also a P60 delivery fee if you are within their prime delivery area which is at Marikina or some of its neighboring cities - may be more when you are farther.

It was delivered pretty neatly and the quality of all the items used was good from the plastic to the box so it's quite recommendable and will pass for a gift or a surprise treat for a loved one. I will definitely order again to one of our family gatherings for them to try it too. I am also looking forward to more flavors they will be coming up with since the box was cleaned up pretty well and there were no leftovers.

I guess that means more croissant waffles and sweets treats for me! Haha! Let me know if you have tried them too and let's share out thoughts on the comment section below. Bon Appetit? Bon Croffle indeed! ;)

  4. It's such a very interesting concept when it comes to food. It goes to show that anyone can create their own 5-star dessert because all that's needed is some thinking outside the donut box.
